Facial Skin Cancer
There are three main types of skin cancer, squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma, and melanoma. Finding a skin cancer early gives you the best chance for successful treatment. Skin cancers are most likely to develop on areas of the body that are exposed to the sun such as the head, face and shoulders, but may appear anywhere. If you have a spot on your skin that is new or has changed, it is best to have it evaluated by a doctor. Some signs that you might have a skin cancer:
- A mole or lesion on your skin that has changed in shape, size or color
- A spot that bleeds and won’t heal
- A spot with irregular borders or coloring
For patients who have been diagnosed with skin cancer, the most common treatment is to surgically remove the cancer. When the cancer is on the face, even a small defect can cause a change in the way you look. As a reconstructive surgeon, Dr Rodman will repair the defect in a way that minimizes visible scars and help you look like you did before surgery as much as possible.
Your Facial Skin Cancer will be performed in Dr. Regina Rodman‘s surgery center located in Houston, TX
